A NUISANCE IN THE STREET.
Joseph South (41). whose face looked as though it might have been used m a punching bag. was rot Ion? out of gaol before he got himself into trouble. It fact, he said good-bye to the •warden only on Saturday, and last night at g o'clock he was in custody again. Thj§ morning, at the Police Court, South pleaded guilty to a charge of teing orderly while drunk in Karangahap# Road. "He was making a nuisance of binself, as he invariably does when it liquor, and was waving his arms about in the street," said Sub-Inspector McCarthy. "Then he fell into hoid» with a constable, and he put up a Tiolent struggle, having to be handcuffed. South has a very long list of previous convictions." South. who said he remembe. _-i nothing about the affair, was sent ic gaol for 14 days.
