ROWING.

CHAMPIONS ALL.

SINGLES TITLES TO TURNER.

noon TIMES RECORDED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PICTON, Saturday. Conditions for the New Zealand rowing championship regatta at Picton to-day were fairly satisfactory. The weather was fine, and the first race, the champion fours, was rowed on calm water. However, t7ie northerly breeze freshened later, and by the time the champion pairs race was to be rowed the water was much too rough, and the race was postponed until '■> p.m. Then, except at the start, where there was a slight johble, the conditions were excellent. Hamilton, winners of the senior fours, have won that event on one previous occasion. 1924-25. Turner recorded a fine performance in placing Tauranga among the list of champions for the first time by winning the singles title in strong company. Jackson and Traill, last year's winners, retained their double sculling title in fine style, proving too tough a proposition for their older and more experienced opponents, I. St Clair and Molesworth (Hamilton). Cooke and Williams (Star, Wellington), scored a meritorious win in the champion pairs. In all the championship events the exhibitions were excellent, and times recorded were good. fJood starts were the order of the day. and the races were all exciting. Public interest was keen, and in every way the regatta was a success. Results, were: — CHAMPION FOURS. Hamilton (G. YV. St. ("lair, B. Sandos, \V. I'.agby. F. A. Waters I 1 Wnngaiuii Union <•'. A.
