A fivc-roomed residence in Walmsley Road, owned and occupied by Mr. T. .j. iScdginan was totally destroyed by fire at 8.15 last evening. Mr. Sedgnian, who is a member of the Waihi Federal Hand, was on bis way to a band contest at Wangamii.

Mrs. Sedgnian, who was in town at (he time of the outbreak, states that she left everything in order and extinguished all of the lights. The fire evidently had a big hold before the alarm was given. The residence was on the outskirts of the town and the brigade could onl\ keep the fire from spreading. The insurance on the building was £100 in the Royal Office and that on the furniture and contents £11)0 in the Alliance Otliee.
