The "Daily Herald's'' diplomatic correspondent states that Sir Austen Chamberlain continues to justify Foreign Oflice delays by the plea of the necessity for consultin;r the Dominions. Apparently lie docs not realise that this "blame-it-on-the-Doniinions" attitude not only docs not impress foreign Governments, but considerably irritates th-i Dominions, seeing that everyone knows it- is only when he wants an excuse for delay that the Foreign Oflice shows punctiliousness about consulting the Dominions at every step. The publication recently of details of the remarkable resemblance between adult male twins of whom it was said even their fingerprints were identical has brought to Scotland Yard inquiries from almost all parts of the world asking whether this indicated a weakness in the fingerprint system. Scotland Yard has obtained reproductions, and nn examination has revealed certain superficial resemblances but other characteristics are absolutely dissimilar. OIL FROM COAL. IMPRESSIVE EXPERIMENT. Two aeroplane engines, a Cirrus and a Jaguar, were started up from a cold condition and ran to their full revolutions at Staglane aerodrome on petrol made from coal. Experts present were very impressed with the possibilities of the homo manufacture. It was pointed out that the reserve of fuel in England would not exceed one month in the event of war cutting off imports, which might quickly bring about a, position of joopardy.
