Pending Inquiries. REQUEST IMPOSSIBLE. SYDNEY. February IV In Sydney to-day a deputation rcic -fining the Seamen's Union asked \'<- New South Wales Minister of .lust!<•,■. Mr. J. R. Lee. to have .T.dinson relea-ed from gaol pending the outcome of am Federal investigation into Mr. Theodore'allegation that Johnson had been comvicted on talse evidence.
The Minister replied that he could not grant the request as the State <Joveinment was merelv housing the prisoner, who had been convicted under the. ledcral Crimes Act.
