Roynter, Government orchard instructor, lias left for Kaikouia to ascertain whether the outbreak of fireblight in the Kaikouia district has spread further than the hawthorn hedge in which it was first discovered. He will also make an extensive study of the locality and will cany out measures for the destruction of the hawthorn hedge and other trees that may be found"to be affected.
