The Warden went once round at threequarter pace with his trainer in the saddle. C'obham finished a length and a-half ahead of Alloy at the end of fi\e furlongs in 1.4. Coliham moved nicely, and is evidently improving. Bank Note ran half a mile from the six furlong po>t in ols, but was then eased up. Becky .Sharp, looking well, was gi\cn useful work on the inside. Rapine was rotrk-ted u> slow work on the inside. Though the Cup candidate does not appear any worse for his gallop yesterday, his injured leg is ,;iH cau.-ing his trainer some anxiety. Ho]k?s are entertained that the son of Martian will be able to fulfil liis engagement. Acred (J. Barry i went six furious by himself, but did not put much dash into his work, and took 1.20. Bonhommc was sent a couple of rounds on the inside at from half to threequarter pace. The Panmurc gelJinir looks very well, and as he is improving in his jumping he should win a hurdle race or two shortly. Endorse was sent half a mile, which the Paper Money filly, though wide out. left behind in 02 2-~>s very comfortablv. Lysander. with a lightweight up. hopped away from the Jiv.- furlong [*■<■ and reeled off the first furlong in quarter in 245. and three furlongs in ■Ui>. He finished up the journey in 1.1 — a rattling -good gallop. The son of Absurd —Pennon looks to be in better fettle now than he has been for a long time, and he promises to make things interesting in the Flying Handicap. Mister Gamp put in a rouud at slow pace, and then ran seven furlongs, the last six of which he cut out in 1.20. Keddar was given good pace work. He looks bright and well.
Hynanna was sent a couple of rounds at from half to three-quarter pace. The Hymestra gelding is evidently in great heart and should be capable of one of his best efforts in the Cup on Thursday. Chopin has been scratched for "the victory Hack.
The Warden is said to be an unlikelystarter at Wanganui. T. Webster has been engaged to ride Home Made in the Cup. if the son of Inuriiham starts in that event
