The "Star" tennis writer says: Ivan Seay was the .-tar player in the* Wilding Shield tennis match against Wellington on Saturday. He was responsible for the only two Canterbury wins, putting down both Don France and Malfroyl Wellington's two leader?, without the' loss of a set. He beat his men by superlative tennis, in which his h'eadwork played a prominent part. From the time Malfroy was leading o—3 Seay outgeneraled him. and the colt got only two games in the next twelve Seav winning 7—o, o—2. Malfroy was 'a finalist for the Xew Zealand championship, and led "i—.'s at set all. He then within close call of winning the title. Don Fiance, who was not an entrant, is able to beat Malfroy. and holds the undeniable right to first in Wellington ranking. Seay has beaten Malfroy and France without losing a set. and therefore he must be regarded as a very dangerous aspirant next year for the Xew Zealand title.
