DEVONPORT PASSENGER SERVICE. The lime-table will be suspended and more frequent trips run. The STANL 1 " BAY SERVICE will leave from the WESTERN FERRIES as under;— From 30 a.m. till 6.45 p.m. Passengers are requested to purchase their tickets at the Northcote and Birkenhead Branch Office. NORTHCOTE AND BIRKENHEAD. VEHICULAR SERVICE. TUESDAY, JANUARY 29, 1929. \ The usual time-table will be run with the exception of the 10.-J5 a.m. trip from Auckland, and the 11.15 a.m. trip from Birkenhead, which will be cancelled. DEVONPORT VEHICULAR SERVICE. JANUARY 26 AND 29, 1929. The usual time-table will be observed, with additional trips. A Special Steamer for Racehorses only will leave Auckland at 9.15 a.m. A.H.B. Toll 3d each way. Horses conveyed after this trip will be charged the usual rates. Pursuant to the provisions of Tbe Muni- > cipal Corporations Act, 1920. public notice < is hereby given that, at a Special Meeting of the Devonport Borough Council called for the purpose, and held in the Council Chambers, Devonport, on the 23rd day of January, 1929, tbe following Resolution, authorising the Raising of a Special Loan of £1400 was duly passed;—

Whereas by Section 44, of the Local Legislation Act. 1925. the Devonport Borough Council is authorised to raise by Special Order, under the provisions of The Local Bodies' Loans Act. 1926. a loan for providing the proper contribution to the cost, or certain sanitary works and reimburse District Fund Account for advances on account thereof, and whereas the total proportion paid by the Devonport Borough Council was £2825 15/10, and whereas the Council has provided £1382 12/ from a loan to provide a Refuse Destructor, authorised by Poll of Ratepayers on the 19th day of December, 1923, leaving a balance of £1443 3/10 advanced from District Fund j Account, and whereas it is necessary to' raise a loan of £1400 to reimburse the I District Fund Account for advances made out of the District Fund Account. Now, therafore, the Devonport Borough Council, in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by The Local Bodies'! Loans Act, 1926, and by The Local Legislation Act, 1928, and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, doth hereby resolve by way of Special Order, as follows:— (1) To raise a Special Loau of £1400 for the purpose of reimbursing the ! District Fund Account as aforesaid. (2) That the said Special Loan of £1400 to be so raised shall have a currency of 15 years. (3) That the interest on the said loan shall be at a rate of 5i per cent per annum. (4) That a Sinking Fund of £4 12/6 per cent per ' annum on the amount of the said loan be established, and the Public Trustee be appointed the Sinking Fund Commissioner. (5) That the security for the said Special Loan and the interest, sinking fund and other charges thereon shall be a special annual recurring rate of 3/G4d (threfe sixty-fourths of a penny) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Devonport. And I hereby give further notice that the foregoing Resolution will be submitted for confirmation as a Special Order to an Ordinary Meeting of the said Council, to be held in [.be Council Chamber® Marine Square.
