PEA-RIFLE MISHAP.

YOUTH SHOT IN THE CHEST.

OUT AFTER WILD CAT,

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)

GREYMOUTH, this day.

A shooting accident occurred yesterday at Moana, 23 miles south-east from Greymouth, when Ernest Richard Boddy, aged 18, was injured by a pea-rifle bullet entering his chest.

The youth went out to shoot a wild cat. Having to step over a pigsty by a wire fence, it is surmised one of the wires caught the trigger of the rifle. He was brought in an unconscious state to the Greymouth Hospital, where his condition to-day was reported as rather less serious than at first believed.
