(By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.)

HAMILTON, this dav,

About 180 children of poor parents left by the river steamer Manuwai this morning for a ten days' holiday at Port Waikato, where a summer camp has been established overlooking the Tasnian. The party is in charge of Mr. W. H. Paul and Mrs. H. Ross, who were responsible for raising the necessary funds. They expect to reach their destination at 7 o'clock to-night, when a hot ineal will be waiting for the children, who will be allotted various tents. Ample provisions were aboard for the journey down. The party looked supremely happy as the boat drew out from the wharf, the children singing to a piano accompaniment.
