A VALUELESS CHEQUE.

YOUNG MAX ARRESTED. OTHER CHARGES PENDING. (From Our Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. A young man, William John Gillies, was to-day remanded till January 1(5 on a charge of issuing a valueless cheque for £2 10/ at Katikati. He was described as a bird of passage. Other charges are pending.

Tlie police had been searching for Gillies for six months. Bail was fixed at £400.
