ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES.

AUSSIE SPRINTS PAST FIVE.

Owing to heavy rain overnight the going was on the dead side during training operations at Ellerslie this morning. No fast gallops were recorded, with the exception of that registered by Aussie over five furlongs, which took place after the breakfast interval, when the track had improved somewhat. The majority of the work was done on No. 2 grass.

No. 2 Grass. The first to work were Gold Money, King Emerald and Eager Rose, who got to the end of four furlongs in 625. Gold Money finished best, while King Emerald who was slow to move off also went well.

Lomint ran home from the six-furlong post in 1.22. She did it nicely. War Officer sprinted, but was not timed.

Royal Flower and Critique were on terms at the end of six furlongs, which took 1.21 2-5.

Corinax ran right away from Thursby, while running a round in 1.47 3-5. The last six furlongs occupied 1.19 4-5.

Nerval Tea worked over five furlongs, but was not after time.

Perception was sent over a circuit, but was not going fast at any part, taking 58 2-53 to run the last four furlongs.

Hoylake jumped off at the six-furlong post and after running the first three furlongs in 39 2-ss, he completed his task in 1.21. He was never extended at any part of the gallop.

Sir Russell did strong work over a round, which he covered in 1.54 4-5.

The two stable companions, Talisker and Vertigern, strode over a circuit in 1.57. Both horses worked very freely.

Archeno ran the last six furlongs of her work in 1.28.

Sir Mond, Jolly Money and Zane Grey were bunched at the end of six furlongs, which occupied 1.22. Sleepy Sol and Golden Wedding, who were not extended, covered a similar journey in 1.25 1-5.

Winsome Boy was going better than Te Money at the conclusion of six furlongs, run in 1.19 4-5.

Hyde Park and Modest Boy got through a six-furlong task in 1.24*1-5. Lady's Boy was too good for Knight Town over a similar journey and registered 1.23. Taneriri ran the same distance in 1.19 3-5.

After Breakfast. Aussie, who was plated and carried a light boy, jumped off at the five-fur-long post and. after running the first two furlongs in 2os. completed the full distance in 1.2. This was a great gallop. Bannock and Yaqui finished together over six furlongs in 1.21. Papatu was sent a round which lie traversed in 1.49 1-5. The last eix furlongs occupied 1.22 1-5.

Blago easily accounted for Karamu, while running a circuit in 1.52 2-5. Awarere put plenty of dash into a five-furlong gallop, which he covered in 1.4 3-5. Bizarrq was slightly in front of Abbott s JDelight and Mangaiti at the end of a round, which took 1.51 4-5. Potounui and Glenotue were allotted a working gallop over twelve furlones but were not timed. Clockwork ran the last six furlongs of his work in 1.28 1-5. 6 Good Boy was better than Mon Star at the end of five furlongs, which took 1.7 o-a.

Sand. Sir Archie was timed to ran six furlongs on this track in 1.24 4-5 Silvermine and Bright Glow/ who arSTLTSI&r" •"- t " OTk Two-Year-OM. J^ ge finishe d slightly in f ron t of Desert Song over a four-furlong task which took 51s.
