PRIZE-DAT CEREMONY.

REVIEW OP SCHOOL YEAR.

To celebrate the closing of the school vear, a prize-giving ceremony waa held at King's College yesterday afternoon. Mr. J. H. Upton, chairman of the Board of Governors, presided. The report of the headmaster, Canon H. K. Archdall, stated that 20 students had passed the matriculation exam., two the accountants' preliminary and one the junior university scholarship, which was awarded to C. I. Hobday. Three scholarships of £90 eacih were given by the board of governors to L. E. Lewis, of Epsom school, D. H. Calder, of Grafton Road school and J. A. Plugge, of King's College. The Myers-Bankart scholarship was awarded to T. J. H. Meredith, of Southwell school. In the course of the year a postmatriculation form had been established to give boys a commercial training, and agricultural instruction had been commenced for higher students. The swimming baths fund, including £250 as the result of a bequest by the late Mr. Stuckey, had been increased during the year to £1200. Archbishop Averill delivered a brief address and presented the scholastic prizes. Mrs. Averill presented the athletic trophies. The prize list wa-s as follows:—
