ENGLAND AND JAPAN.
Reported Renewal Of Alliance
Denied.
BOYCOTT IN CHINA.
(Australian and V.Z. Press Association.) (Received 11 a.m.) SHANGHAI, November 30. A telegram received at Nanking at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the Chinese Legation in London, denies the reported renewal of the Anglo-Japanese alliance. The message states that the reports are absolutely without foundation.
The boycott of the Japanese is still rampant in parts of China as a conseJuence of the Shantung situation and span's refusal to evacuate her troops.
ITALY INDIGNANT. 'Assassin Of Vice-Consul Escapes With Light Punishment.
> FRENCH MUBDEB ECHO.
("Times" Cables.) (Received 10 a.m.)
LONDON, November 30.
The "Times" Rome correspondent states that Italy is displaying a white heat indignation because Modugno, who assassinated the Italian Vice-Consul, Count Nsrdinii at the Paris Consulate on August 12 last year, escaped with two years' imprisonment and a 200francs fine. The jury returned a verdict of manslaughter. Signor Rainieri moved a resolution of sympathy in the Chamber of Deputies with the relatives, declaring that Count Nardini was the victim of anti-Fascist, anti-Italian ferocity, and also that the verdict was ludicrous. The Deputies rose as a silent sign of approval.
