SENSATIONAL RISE.
Canadian Marconi Company's Shares Jump. FROM THREE TO 120 SHILLINGS. (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) LONDON, November 29. Shares in the Canadian Marconi Company, which were diflScult to sell at 3/ in 1927, jumped to 120/ in Throgmorton Street last evening. The rise is the most sensational on the London Stock Exchange this year. The shares in question rose 17/ on Friday last, 12/ on Monday, 11/ on Tuesday, when they reached *80/. Yesterday they were quoted at 100/ when the Stock Exchange closed, but the rise continued in the street after hours to 120/. To-day the shares closed at 110/. The demand is due to the fact that New York operators believe wireless telephone developments will assist the fortunes of the Canadian Marconi Company, which controls the patents.
