COSTLY TRIP TO ENGLAND.
SON'S VISIT TO FATHER. CLAIM AGAINST ESTATE FAILS. (By Telegraph.—own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. Mr. Justice Adams to-day dismissed the action of Herbert William ActonAdams, of Tipapa, against the estate of his father, William Acton-Adams. Plaintiff is the eldest son of William Acton-Adams, who left £400,000. When he went to England to see his father, Mr. C. C. M. Ollivier, attorney for William Acton-Adams in Christchurch, advanced plaintiff £2500 out of his father's moneys to meet the expenses of the trip. William Acton-Adams agreed to pay £1000. The executors credited Herbert W. Acton-Adams with £1000, but debited him with the balance, £1500. In the action he asked for a declaration that he was entitled to a division of his father's residuary estate without the executors deducting the £1500 and for a declaration that no debt was owing by him to them. Hie Honor said the advances made by Mr. Ollivier to the plaintiff constituted a debt due by the plaintiff to William ActOn-Adams, and the executors of his will were entitled to retain the sum of £1500 out of any moneys payable to the abuatifl bx-thstthWHte ths>*Hk
