OTAHUHU SCHOOL.
DENTAL CLIMC AUTHORISED. After a lengthy period of local effort and communications with the Education Department a dental clinic is to be established at the Otahuhu District School. Mr. J. L. Saunders, deputy director of dental hygiene, who visited the school at the end of last week, decided on the site in company with the committee. Final arrangements were made yesterday morning at the Education Board's building, when the chairman of the school committee, Mr. C. R. Petrie, was present. Tenders will shortly be called for the work, and provision is being made to accommodate two nurses, the idea being to make Otahuhu a centre for the surrounding districts. The committee have the necessary amount in hand, viz., £100, which will carry a Government subsidy of £2 for £1. During his inspection of the grounds Mr. Saunders was impressed with the delightful appearance of the school grounds, which he said reflected great credit on those responsible for the interest shown.
