FRENCH LINER IN DISTRESS. (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) (Received 12 noon.) LONDON, November 25. There were several fatalities in various parts of the country from falling trees and tiles. The German cadet training barque, Pommern, off Guernsey,, sent out distress signals and another German ship rescued 40 cadets, the British mine-layer Adventure, rescuing the remaining 40. Mountainous seas are running in the Bay of Biscay, where a large French liner is in distress.
