HIDES AND SHEEPSKINS.
GOOD WELLINGTON SALE. The fortnightly sales of sheepskins, hides and tallow were held on Friday, the usual buyers in attendance. The brokers report that the recent advance in wool prices was felt in the prices realised for skins, dry lota showing an advance of fully %d per lb, whilst salteds showed a distinct hardening. Hide and calf were in good demand at recent rates. Following is the range of prices:— Dry Sheepskins.—Halfbred, 13d to 14% d; fine crossbred, 13#d to 14% d; medium crossbred, 12d to 14 ] 4d; coarse crossbred,' 12d to half wools, 10d to quarter wools, B%d to ll%d; pelts, 8d to 12dj Salted Skins.—Pelte, 3/2 to 4/5; quarter wools, 5/9; three-quarter wools, 8/7 to 11/7; full wools, 9/1 to 13/8: extra large, 14/6; lambs, 2/8 to 3/6. Hides.—Ox, 331b to 441b. 9%d; ox, 451b to 521b, 9d to 9%d; ox, 531b to 591b. 9%d to 10d; ox, 601b to 691b, 10d to 10% d; ox, 701b and over, lOVid to 10% d; cow, 331b to 391b, 7%d to 9%; cow, 401b to 481b, B%d to 9?* d; cow, 401b and over.
