KERBSIDE PUMPS.

POSITION AT MOKKINSVILLE.

(By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.)

MOKKINSVILLE, Friday

The Mayor (Mr. W. McPherson) stated at a meeting of the Morrinsville Borough Council last evening that the question of kerbstone petrol pumps would have to be considered very seriously. The suggestion had been made that there were" too many pumps in the town. When the council agreed several years ago to these pumps being installed it was not anticipated that permission would be sought for so many, and it would now have to be decided whether they were to be prohibited from the footpaths or allowed to contin : there and increase.

Mr. Chapman said there was a possibility of the .pumps ou the footpath in front of Martin's Motors being removed before next meeting. •A committee, comprising the Mayor and Councillors Chapman and Donald, was set up to report.
