Chinese Conductors Go On Strike. POPULACE JOY-RIDING. (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) (Received 11.30 a.m.) SHANGHAI, November 23. Residents of Peking are enjoying free tram rides as a result of the refusal of conductors to collect fares until the company assures the protection of employees from native soldiers who beat lip conductors whenever fares are asked. The entire populace is joy-riding.
