The quantity of hales to he offered has been increased since the last totals were given, and now number 22/290 bales; very little short of the record offering last season.
Buyers arrived in the city this morning, and'spent the day inspecting the wool in the various stores. The quality is recognised as being well up to the standard of recent years, and with the market in a healthy condition, brokers anticipate a good clearance at satisfactory rales. Quite likely the average values ruling at last November sale will be equalled, and possibly exceeded in certain grades. In this connection it may be noted that last November the top price realised was 26V£d for super line lialfbred. The sale opened with bids of 17d, and quite a number of lots realised about that figure. Coarse crossbred ranged from 10','td to and the average price per bale over the whole catalogue was £21 10/.
