ZOOLOGICAL PARK MUSIC.
A varied musical programme will be presented by the Municipal Band at the Zoological Park to-morrow afternoon at 3 o'clock, when the following items among others will be played: Overture, Mirella , selections, "Katja, the Dancer and "Reminiscences of Wales ; waltz, Las Golondrinas"; intermezzo, Chanson Bohemienne"; cornet solo, "Souvenir de Bellini" (soloist, Mr. Bowcs); cornet duet "The Swiss Boy" (Messrs Day.es and Morgan), and grand march, .Uarche Heroique."
GLEN EDEN SCOUTS. The Glen Eden Public Hall was crowded last evening when the Glen, Men Scouts aud Cubs gave an entertainment, which consisted of song., recitations, two sketches by the Scouts, assisted bj 01 Guides, and a playlet by the Cubs U* Staee effects were very hue and togethei with the splendid acting of the performers provided the audience with a good deal of amusement. The success of the function was due to the efforts of Mr. Hocken, who provided the screen effects and who also had trained the boys in the sketches A recitation by Scout I. Cieen was well received, as was a tenor song by Air Hocken. Assistant Commissioner Boswell, of the Auckland Headquarters addressed the audience and said how agreeably surprised he was at seeing such aiarge audience, which augured well for the interest that was being shown in the Scout movement. He complimented he Glen Eden troop on the quality of the entertainment and hoped it might be possible to arrange for it to.be given a the city. The proceeds were in aid ot the lecal troop funds.
ROYAL AUCKLAND CHOIR. The Roval Auckland Choir will give the third concert of its current season in the Town Hall on Thursday next. J here will be part songs by the choir, and new quartets. The soloists will be Miss Mma Caldow (contralto) and Miss Moll? Wright ('cellist). DANCING. There will be another carnival night at the Dixieland Cabaret, Point Chevalier, this evening, when a specially selected score of syncopated fox-trot hits will be played by the Dixieland Dance Band, under Harry Neilson. This evening should be a memorable one for merrymakers who attend the Click Clack Cabaret, in the Rialto Buildings, Newmarket. Favours have been arranged for a special entertainment. Clyde Howley's Famous Internationals will provide the music. „ . Old-time dances are held every Wednesday and Saturday evenings m the Municipal Hall, Newmarket, under the direction of'.Mr. D. Mayes. Another enjoyable entertainment will be held in the Mission Bay Cabaret. Ivohimarama, this evening. Favours will be distributed among the dancers, lor whom music will be played by Mr. Roy Handle's Orchestra. Special bus services are advertised. . , The Regal Orchestra will again play the music for this evening's dance of the Nmroma Social Club in the Manchester Unity Hall, at the corner of Victoria and Hobson Streets. The Felix Dance Club will hold another entertainment In the Orange Hall, Newton Road, this evening. The Orpheans, under Lauri Paddi will provide the music. Popular entertainments are given every Saturday evening in the Parisian, Kitchener Street. Birtley's Society Orchestra will play a specially selected programme this evening, and favours, including the well-known hats, will be distributed. PUCCINI MUSICAL SOCIETY. The first concert of the Puccini Musical Society will be given iiv the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall on Thursday, December C. A well selected programme of compositions by Puccini will be played.
