KING'S SCHOOL TOURNEY.
LIVELY HEAVY-WEIGHT BOUT.
Held in the open air, the annual boxing Championships in connection with Kings School Beinueru, were decided yesterday afternoon Entries in all classes were good and there were several spirited contests'. Parents and friends of»thc pupils who watched the boxing were later the guests of the headmaster at afternoon lea. Results of the finals were as follow.— Ban am-weigl.ts.-F. L. Abbott beat H. G Jenkins. Abbott, who had the advantage i\ she and was considerably stronger than his opponent, had matters all his own way, and the referee stopped the bout *&£&gEU 0. WQntte. boat T G Belle! McGruther made the pace from' the start and piled on points. In tlie second round Bcale's defence: faded and the bout was awarded to McGiuther. Middle-weights-*. N. Rhodes beat J W Gunn. Gunn was not as sturclliy built as his opponent and had to adopt defensive tactics from the start. At the end of the second round the referee ffave the decision to Rhodes. Heavy-weights (School Championship).H J. Cramer-Iloberts drew with J. ai. Sinai field This was the best bout of the championships. Both lads went to It with a will from the opening bell and minches to the face soon had both bleediT from the nose. daunted the youngsters kept at it, there being some staring toe-to-toe exchanges The second round was every bit as fast as the tot and both boys were tired at the bed. Ihe referee then stopped the bout and declared it a draw. „ . Jir. Samson officiated as referee.
