Wellington Trots.

ONE-DAY SPRING MEETING. Hinklers' Trial. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.")

PETONE, this day

The Wellington Trotting Club's oneday spring meeting is being held at Hutt Park, in fine weather, before a large attendance. The track is fast.

Kinkier was a firm favourite, and beginning smartly with Rafa and Harold Lee went out clear of a tangling field. Hinkler, Rafa, Baron Bingen, Lightfoot and Harold Lee were the only possibilities with half a mile to go. Hinkler beat Baron Bingen home by two lengths, Rafa being half a head away, third. Harold Lee was fourth, and Lightfoot next.

In the Nai Nai Handicap Nancy Bingen was favourite, but a bad break early settled her chance. Kitty Patch settled down first-, and led past the stands from Lonesome, Hardy Grattan, Great Way, and Kyra. All these, except Kitty Patch, broke up over the last circuit, Kitty Patch beating Lonesome by a short length. Nancy Bingen was four lengths away. Great Way was fourth, and Hardy Grattan next.
