WINNING VEIN.

AUSTRALIAN LABOUR.

Half-A-Dozen Seats Gained At Federal Polls.

34 OF 75 MEMBERS.

SYDNEY, November 20. As a result of the Federal general election Labour has definitely won six seats in the House of Representatives and has an excellent chance of winning five more. That would bring the party's strength to 34 in a House of 75 members. The seats won by Labour include three in New South Wales, one in Victoria (by default, owing to the Government candidate failing to nominate in time), one in South Australia aud one in Queensland.

The counting of the primary votes is being continued. The distribution of preference votes will be begun at the end of the week. The doubtful contests will then be decided, as will the fate of the Ministerial candidates for the Senate.
