A PENSIONS ANOMALY.
May I say that Mr. Cummings has been sadly misinformed in regard to widows' pensions. I have been drawing a widow's pension for five years. I have three children to sapport and all I am allowed is £2 per week, that Iβ ten shillings per head for us all: merely a starvation allowance. We can only hope that the new Parliament will do something more for us than the old one did. Surely it costs as much to support our children as it does the boarded out ones of the Child Welfare Department at fifteen shillings per week each; but no, we are expected to keep ours on t«-n shillings, and this is British justice and fair play! Perhaps Mr. Parry or some other of our Labour members will interest himself on our behalf. STRUGGLES.
