CITY WEST.
RECORD POLL ANTICIPATED.
VOTERS EARLY ON THE MOVE.
Electors in City West were early on the move this morning, and by noon it was estimated that the average was 500 votes per hour recorded at the principal booth In Leys Institute. At All Hall the average was estimated at 200 per hour, and at the Church of Christ Hall in Pollen Street, the estimate was 100 per hour. Indications were that a record poll would result, and officials at other booths in the City West electorate stated that there had been a steady stream of voters from the time the polling booths were opened. Mr. T. M. Crawfora, deputy returning officer for the district, had arrangements complete, and facilities for voters were all that could be desired. Supporters of the three candidates were much in evidence, and a large fleet of motor cars were employed in convey'ng electors to the various booths. Reports from Great Barrier Island, on which there are six polling booths for approximately 130 electors, stated that there was particular interest in the resifit there, more particularly on account of the fact that two of the candidates had visited the island during the campaign.
