TRAFFIC TO-NIGHT.
CLOSING OF CITY STREETS.
BIG CROWDS EXPECTED
' LATE TRAMS HOME.
In order to deal with the large crowds that will he in the city to-night to hear the results of the election, special arrangements have been made by the City Traffic Department in regard to motors and other vehicles. Queen Street, between Wellesley Street and Customs Street, will be closed to all vehicular traffic between 7 and 11 p.m. Fort, Commerce and Wyndham, Streets will also be closed.
Tramway services to and from the city will be temporarily readjusted, trams being diverted to Hobson Street and Anzac Avenue. The tramway service will run additional services to the suburbs up to about midnight.
In the streets to be closed there will be a strict watch kept to see that motor cars are not parked during, the hours of closing. Any cars found parked in the proscribed areas will be removed by the authorities. Motorists are requested by the City Traffic Department to clear all cars from the areas mentioned before 7 p.m.
Traffic usually proceeding along Albert Street to the waterfront will be diverted at the Victoria Street intersection into Hobson Street. There will be a pointsman on duty to direct the traffic into the proper channel.
