The British Board of Trade reports the trade returns for last month as compared with those of October, 1027, as follow £ Imports decreased 2,324,000 Exports increased 3.145,000 Re-exports decreased 559,000 The principal decreases were:— Imports— Grain ana floor 1,544,000 Wood and timber 1,080,000 Wool 1,022,000 Rubber 1.301,000 Increases were :— Imports— Nondurable Food and Drink .. 975,000 Nonferrous Metals and Manufactures 788,000 EXPORTS. Totals— 174,353,000 175,645,000 176,029,000 These returns show a substantial recovery over September, which was a particularly qolet month, the turnover totalling £151,015,000. Although the latest figures are close to the average of the past two years they are considerably lower than In October, 1025, when the totals of Imports and exports were £180,296,000.
