TROTTING.

QUIET MORNING AT EPSOM.

VISITORS ARRIVE,

Although the track at Epsom tUI morning was in excellent order there wan practically no work other than long jogging done. However, to-morrow will see the final workouts and there may be some interesting speeding up. J. Shaw worked his team early. Jackie Audubon (Julian), Native Prince (Shaw) and Jewel Pointer were companions over a mile and a-half. They were not asked to go fast and ran home at about a 2.20 gait. The Shrew had the straps on and worked nicely without being asked to show her top speed. Colonel Thorpe (Lee) and Golden Huia (Lovegrove) were indulged in a workout, but both broke up, and their displays were not encouraging. Marble Star (Millen) trotted well and faultlessly over a couple of rounds, but he was not driven at top. _ If Jackie Audubon starts in the Jellicoe Handicap on Saturday it is more than likely he will be driven by A. Julian.

A. Frank? arrived from the South this morning with the pacer Travis Axworthy, who promises to be one of the favourites in the Mangere Handicap on Saturda v.

M. Holmes put in an appearance this morning with Laplander, Golden Bubble* St. Bridget and Firelight. F. G. Holmes will probably arrive on Friday to drive some of thorn in thoir races.'
