Following the custom of past years the "Auckland Star" has made comprehensive arrangements, for the display'of polling returns to-morrow night, both in regard to the election of members of tfie House of Representatives and the licens-

ing poll.

The results, as they are received, will be displayed on a special screen outside the "Star's" Fort Street? front, facing, Commerce Street. A group of powerful*' loud speakers has been installed, and as. traffic will not be permitted either in Fort or Commerce Streets, and. no park-; ing allowed, the loud speakers should be clearly audible as far afield as the railway station.

Special arrangements have been made for the prompt receipt of results, and progress reports, and the public will, be kept fully informed-throughoiit the even?-, ing as to the. local results and the results from every part of the Dominion. "Star" Phones Silent. The public are specially requested not to telephone to the "Star" office to inquire for results.. "Auckland Star" telephone line will be in use throughout 1 the evening, and all requests for information on election night will be declined. The returning officer for Auckland West has arranged for the screening of Dominion results- from the Ponsonby Post Office to-morrow night. This has been done on former occasions.
