TRANSPORT BOARD.

BIT. EDEN REPRESENTATIVE.

MR. E. H. POTTER NOMINATED.

Mr. E. H. Potter, Mayor of Mount Eden, has been nominated by the Mount Eden Borough Council as one of the suburban representatives on the Auckland Transport Board, which is to be formed.

The position is that the boroughs of Mount Eden, Mount Albert and Newirarket, are called upon to select two representatives for the board, while the other suburban local bodies affected by the transport legislation will also have the privilege of filling two seats.

Should either of the suburban transport groups nominate more than two members, then the Minister of Public Works ■will have power to order an election.

It is expected that the suburban local bodies will come to an arrangement so that an election will not be necessary.
