PIANO STUDENTS.
The fortnightly meeting of the Auckland Piano Students' Association was held in room 31, Lewis Eady, Ltd's. Building, last night. Despite the inclement weather there was a good attendance, and the evening devoted to various composers , works was most interesting.
Miss L. Doris Binns contributed "Reve Angelique" (Rubinstein), and read a clever paper on the Master's life. A charming rendering of Chaminade'b "Meditation" was given by Miss Olliver, : and the Misses Parker played a auet — Keteteb's ''In a Chinese Garden," a clever modern tone-sketch which was much appreciated. Miss M. Trendall'a brilliant rendering of Goddard's "Valse Chromatique" followed, and Miss P. Mobberly chose Chopin's "Fantasie Impromptu" and gave a most sympathetic rendering. Miss Blackburn and Miss Clare selected Saint-Saen's "Le Cygne" in duo form, a most welcome item. The last item, Mr. Roy Collins' contribution held special interest, being "Mazurka Brilliante," composed by Albert E. Williams, an inmate of the Blind Institute.
The association still grows and has every prospect of a larger field of activities in the near future.
