"ADVERTISING IN EXCELSIS."

TO-DAY'S CLUB MEETING.

ADDRESS BY MR. LUNX.

The fortnightly lunch meeting of the Auckland Advertising Club, held to-day in the Lewis Eady Hall, was well attended, the president, Mr. A. H. Lees, being in the chair. The speaker of the day was Mr. A. G. Lunn, who gave his impressions of the recent commerce tour. It was, he said, "advertising in excelsis." He had no hesitation in describing the tour as the finest advertising stunt which had yet been put through in the Dominion. The tour was being talked of all over New Zealand. Other centres were asking why they had not got in first and were seeking for a way to arrange similar undertakings. Like all sound advertising it was based .on truth and good motives.

Mr. Luiin described the remarkable evidence of the province's' potentialities for production. He had been particularly impressed by the wonderful prospects of the afforestation organisation at Putaturu. The growth of the trees was simply amazing. After seeing what he had seen he felt that the opportunities for the future were almost boundless. New Zealand's exports List year had exceeded £50,000,000, but he had the idea that 20 years hence, even ten years hence, the figures would reach dimensions that at present would not be credited.

Meeting the settlers at various points he felt that something was done to bind closer the chains of friendship between town and country residents.

One word only of critieism cauld he offer and that was merely in the nature of a suggestion. It was that with so extensive an itinerary, despite the perfect organisation, the trip was somewhat rushed and there was not the time to acquire as much information as was desired.
