Mr. Mosley, S.M., to-day, when a doctor wae charged with speeding, and a plea wu made that the penalty be light. "If a doctor who was going to a case of the utmost urgency was charged before me with speeding," said Mr. Mosley, 'I would not take that, into consideration. Tt would not matter if»the King we,re being brought to town. A doctor should not endanger the lives of people, aven if he is going probably to save the life of a patient. "There were 178 deaths last year from motor accidents in New Zealand. *If the motoring by-laws had been observed there would not have been a third of that number. There is absolutely no excuse for it. ,. The fine imposed was £2 and costs.
