FREE HOSPITALS.

MR. RICHARDS' ADVOCACY. That the Reform Government had oppressed the masses, whilst relieving the classes, was a complaint made by Mr. A. S. Richards, Labour candidate for Roskill at Morningside on Saturday. The privileged ones, he said, had enjoyed the bulk of the £500,000,000 of increased wealth during the last ten years. Pensions for the aged, the blind, and others were inadequate, compared with the cost of living, and must be increased. Medical assistance and free hospitals for those requiring them should be their right, j Animals had free medical service through the Agricultural Department. Why not humans? A vote of thanks and confidence was carried with cheers for Labour.
