MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. * I Alburnia.—The manager reports that the drive north on the lianjringrwall branch of the Orlando reef has been extended 3ft, a total of 303 ft from the centre of the main crosscut. This reef averages about ten inches wide, and still carries nice mineral and silica. The cross leader in the drive averages 12 inches wide, and is still a little mixed with mullock. The drive south on the cross leader from the main drive north on the hangingwall of Orlando reef has befia driven 7ft. The reef averages IS inches, but is split into three branches; _ all the branches carry nice mineral and silica, ana colours of gold are seen In the ore. The rise on the dropper off the Sons of Freedom reef is up 73ft. The reef averages 10 Inches wide, and the quartz looks weU for making gold. The footwall country rock is interlaced with mineral veins and quart* stringers. Lucky Shot.—The manager reports that the drive south on the main reef off the bottom of No. 1 winze has been advanced off. The reef is 3ft wide, both walls are exposed. Gold is visible in the ore from wall to wall, and several pieces of picked stone have been secured during the week. The low level has been cleaned out for & distance of 500 ft. New Waiotahi.—The manager reports that the drive seaward on the reef from the 100 ft mark in the crosscut towards the Caledonian reef has been advanced 6ft for the week, also 2ft has been sunk where the gold was got. and strong dabs of coarse gold has been seen in the quartz broken. The country rock is most favourable, and the prospects promising.
