Desperate. Surgeon On Housetop Terrifies.A" Crowd. RELATIVE BLOWN TO | PIECES. (United Service.? (Received 10.30 a.m.) DELHI, November 0. .. Standing on the roof of a, house, bombs in ono hand and a dagger in the other, a Mohammedan surgeon at Meerut, in the presence of a crowd of several thousands, defied the police. He had quarrelled with his wife and went with ten bombs to the house where she was staying. On the way he met his brother-in-law, whom he blew to pieces. ':'■■*' ' He threw other bombs, slightly injuring his wife and small son. Then he barricaded himself in a house, • and' in reply to the police challenge to'surrender, he hurled more bombs, injuring several in> the" crowd. i ' He was ultimately shot in the leg by a constable. The surgeon was arrested arid taken to hospital, where he is recovering from an overdose of opium.
