SYDNEY, November' 9; ' A meeting of over 300 seamen passed a resolution expelling Mr. Thomas Walsh 'from : . the union, on the ground that he was guilty of a betrayal of. confidence on vital matters concerning the' union, and • that ho 'helped- in the formation of another union.'
A-n application has been" made to the Commonwealth Industrial, Registrar . for the registration of a new union,"to be called the Australian Seamen's- Union, which is commencing with 400 members. Mr. Walsh, recently elected secretary of the existing union, said the rules'-of the new ■ union would i give its members absolute control over the officials, and it ,Would include bona-fule.'seamen only,. ',_.
