Settlers of the Tatararthi swamp mrt Mr. O. N. Campbell, Commissioner of Crown Lands for North Auckland, who was accompanied by Mr. G. McMorran. chief drainage engineer and the county engineer, Mr. S. L. Spanhake, in order to finalise a scheme for the drainage of the Government sections behind Tatararihi and a large area of rich river flats. Mr. Campbell indicated that the Government were prepared to contribute £2500 conditionallv on the settlers finding the balance of £740. It was decided to constitute a drainage area and raise a loan for £740. It is understood that the work will be put in hand at once.
