- In spite of the bonfire celebrations a large audience of 500 gave Mr. Kells Mason an attentive hearing at the Foresters' Hall, Onehunga. Mr. Mason gave an interesting discourse on the differences betgsfcen Liberalism and Socialism. * The candidate stated that Liberalism stood for levelling up and Socialism for levelling down. Mr. Mason took the opportunity to dissociate the United party from any suggestion of unfair tactics.
The meeting closed with a vote of thanks and confidence, amidst cheering and applause.
