As I understand a petition to abolish the early closing of fruit shops is being circulated, I crave space in your columns to say a word 01 two in favour of the present hours. These a\e been tried for twelve months and have been appreciated by many who found the long, weary hours of the past too much for tlH*m. Ihere is 110 reason why thirteen hours a day or four days a week and sixteen hours a dav on the two shopping day.;. Fndav and Saturday, should not be enough for* both public and shopkeeper.
