CANADA'S FISH HAUL

BEST IN TEN YEARS,

Exceeding the catch of fish last year, which was considered almost phenomenal, the waters of the Bay of Fundy and Sainl Mary's Bay are yielding a harvest this year which is the best in a decade. The Centreville fleet, comprising about 25 boats, has landed, since the fishing season began, between three and four million pounds of fish. The fishing thpre is divided into three seasons—cod fishing in early spring, hake and pollock during the smmmer, and haddock fishing, which begins in September and ends in January. Whereas a canning business was once operated there, the fish are now mostly iced and shipped fresh to American and Canadian markets. Fresh fillets of fish arc being shipped to a considerable extent to Boston and Central Canada, and a considerable quantity of cod oil ia also •hipped.
