AEROPLANE LANDING GROUND.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TUAKAU, Friday. The Tuakau Town Board met this evening, Mr. W. J. Taylor, presiding. The Auckland Aero Club inquired whether there were any suitable areas tor an aeroplane landing-ground in Tuakau. Several were mentioned by members as likely locations, and it was decided to suggest that an official of the club visit Tuakau to inspect. It was decided to order a memorial plaque in bronze as a roll of honour to be erected at the entrance to the Town Hall, the cost, £55, to be borne bv the special fund handed over to the board for the purpose. It was agreed to donate £20 toward the cost of erecting a hostel for Maoris at Tuakau.
The solicitor to the Municipal Association advised that the board should ask the Minister of Public Works to apportion part of the cost of an overhead bridge across the railway levelcrossing at Tuakau among adjoining local bodies.
