MEETING AT WAIHI. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, Saturday. The Walhi Athletic and Cycling Club held a sports meeting this afternoon. The following were the results:— CYCLING. Dye 1, J. McKean 2. Forced Handicap, 100 Yards.—W. Dutton I, Wells 2, Swan 3. WAIHI CLUB'S GALA. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. A sports gathering under the auspices of the VVaihi Athletic and Cycling Club, postponed from Labour Day, waß held on the iteereation Reserve on Saturday. There was a large attendance. The Federal band enlivened proceedings with a musical programme. A. Pilkington, the points winner in the cycle events, was presented by the president with a trophy donated by the Farmers' Union. J. Harcourt, the winner of the three miles cycling club handicap, was presented with a trophy by the Mayor, on behalf of the president, Mr. W. ington. A. Hltchen (Walhi), the winner of the 100 yds handicap, received a trophy presented by Mr. J. Moorhead. Results:— 100 Yds Novice Race. —A. Hltchen (3yds) 1, C. Cunliffe (3yds) 2. Time, 10 l-ss.
