MINING NEWS.
MOANATAIARI. An extraordinary meeting of shareholders in the Moanataiari G.M. Co. has been called by the directors for the purpose of considering the present financial position, and to consider and adopt means for improving the same by an increase of capital or otherwise. An alternative suggestion for shareholders' consideration at that meeting is. '-That the company be wound up voluntarily." In a circular forwarded to shareholders the directors state that the present position is the outcome of a disappointing breakdown with the Government on the question of financial assistance. It had been expected that a grant would have been placed on the Estimates for the assistance of the mining at Thames, but as that was not done the directors decided to submit the whole question to shareholders to o d r C shut W d h own er WUI &ad mol>e ca *> ital I
