WEDDINGS OF THE WEEK.

BROWN—RUSSELL,

A pretty wedding took place on Wednesday at St. Peter's Church, Grey Lynn, the Rev. Haliday officiating, when Violet May, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Russell, of Waipu, became the wife of T. Brown, fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Brown, Panmure Road, Otahuhu. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a frocK of ivory crepe de chine and silver lace. Her tulle veil was arranged mob cap style, and had a coronet of orange blossoms. The bridesmaid, Miss Millie McLean, wore almond green crepe de chine with flared skirt, and cape hanging loosely from the shoulders. The skirt and cape were embroidered in silver, with silver shoes and stockings and almond green cap to match frock. Both carried shower bouquets. Little Elva Young, niece of the bride, was flower girl, wearing kingfisher blue crepe de chine and tulle cap to match, and she carried a posy. Mr. Laurie Brown was best man. After the marriage ceremony a reception was held in the Penrith tea rooms.

BILLIARD—CLAUDE. A dainty bride was Francis Jeanette, only daughter of Mrs. Claude, of Onehunga, ■ when she was married to Mr. Frank Vaughan, only son of Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Milliard, of Cremorne, Sydney. The ceremony took place yesterday afternoon at St. Aiden's Church, the Rev. Coleman officiating. The bride, who was given away by Mr. F. Treanor, of Pukekohe, wore a biege rose silk bengaline ensemble frock. The bodice was of crepe de chine, with stripes of peach, and bois de rose, in three tones. A wide scarf was worn round the neck, and. a crinoline picture hat was of the same tones. She carried a pastel shaded shower bouquet. The maid in attendance was Miss Thelma Clarke, gowned also in rose beige crepe de chine. The skirt was flared, and a diamante buckle fastened the waist line drapery; crinoline hat with pale shade of rose flowers forming an under bandeau; shower bouquet of pink and blue flowers. Mr. Colin Saunders was best man. A reception was held at the Domain Kiosk's new reception room, which was daintily arranged in shades of pink flowers and asparagus fern. The bride's mother received, the guests wearing a black silk crepe fleuri and beige georgette vest, black and beige silk hat, pink shower bouquet. Miss Billiard, bridegroom's sister, wore beige ensemble suit, trimmed with chenille, ciel blue and beige hat; Mrs. Reg. Laird, black ensemble •nit, relieved with white black hat; Mrs. W. T. Cotter, black crepe de soie and purple hat; Mrs. Treanor, navy blue crepe fleuri ensemble suit; Mrs. Noel Levy, black and white fleuri, lime georgette scarf.
