PIANO STUDENTS' ASSOCIATION
A BEETHOVEN EVENING.
The fortnightly meeting of the Auckland Piano Student*' Association was held in Lewis Eady's Buildings. Beethoven and hie works provided a most interesting programme. Noticeably good Papers were prepared and read by Miss Clare and Mr. Webber. This branch of the society's activities is proving lcreaaHigly valuable and instructive. , Practical illustrations of the master s compositions, with extracts from Sonatas Op. 2 iJo. 2, were givenby Miss L. Doris Binns, and from the Weldstera by Miss Joyce M. Parker. A movement from the Pathetique Sonata, arranged as a duo, was played by Miss Clare and MM* E. Blackburn. Miss M. Trendall and Mr. ®oy Collins contributed a Beethoven duet. Part of the time was devoted to arrangements for the open evening, which *t is proposed to give at the end of the Present season. New members were «nr »Ued, and there is every indication that jh« association will become _ a. notable lecture in $h« Auckland musical world.
